Last post of 2009

It was a tough decision as to which photo would be the last one I post in 2009. So I ended up going with this shot ; One taken of DARK FORTRESS at recent show in London, infact the last gig I attended in . After Christmas I'm off to celebrate New Years with some friends in Aberdeen, so I'll take this moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope you have a great New Years!javascript:void(0)

Tweakbird

As everyone braves the cold and the snow for the last shopping weekend before Christmas I figured I'd take a moment to warm you up with some pictures of TWEAKBIRD, who hail from the sunny USA. You can almost feel the heat ;)

Photographer of the Year 2009

Today I am more excitable than usual. Last night received 1st place in 'Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2009' competition for my entry into the category : "This is Britain". As you'd imagine I'm really pleased with this result. I recommend you visit the links at the bottom of this post to see the other category winners and see the mind blowing overall winner's image taken by Bragi J. Ingibergsson. I spoke to him last night and he looked a bit shell-shocked. Unsuprisingly I think he found it a little hard to comprehend that he had just won £10,000 and the top place! When you see his image I'm pretty sure you will be blown-away too.

If you want to see the top images in each category and the commended images please make the time to visit the Mall Galleries in Central London before the exhibition closes in a week.

Ghoulmore Wedding - Night of the Living Wed.

Ash and Michelle Ghoulmore (who own and run Kreepsville 666 Clothing line and the Retro Rebels store ) got married last weekend and had a horror themed Wedding (hence the title). I was there and had a great time. I was happy with how I chose to light the group shots; it reflected the horror theme with theatrical shadows and punchy high-contrast. These are some of the results that they let me share with you.

Paint Bombs!

As promised I've posted one the results from the ADVANTAGE promo shoot we did in a Central London studio last weekend. I'm only allowed to release this one image until the campaign is ready. For the time being you'll have to take my word for it that the individual shots of each band member bursting their own paint-filled balloon turned out really well.

Competition Time.

It was a nice present on Sunday afternoon to find out that I had two images in the shortlist for 'Digital Camera Photographer of the Year ' ; one in 'Fashion' and one in 'This is Britain'. The image submitted for 'This is Britain' has made it to the Editors Choice shortlist. In a few weeks I will find out if it will be printed and exhibited in London for the Judges to make their final decision. So fingers crossed!

London Tattoo Convention.

As usual the London Tattoo Convetion does not fail to provide the goods! In this case it was in the form of my friends THE BARON AND MISSY MACABRE. I spent two days catching up with old friends, running around shooting performances by SCARLETT DAGGERS, LUNA ROSA, VINCE RAY AND THE BONESHAKERS and various world famous tattooers at work.

New Style Blog.

All the old material on here is gone....... instead I have a new style blog that will be easier to update. I'm also planning to get an RSS feed sorted out as several of you have been complaining that I haven't done so yet :)
